The BSP is all set to emerge as the single largest part in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, counting for which began on Friday morning. [IBN Live]

Update: It seems that the BSP will be able to form a government on its own as it is slated to get more than 202 seats. In an assembly of 403 seats, 202 is the magical number for government formation. If it so happens, this will be the first single-party government in UP in more than a decade.

The surprising news is not that BSP is emerging as the single largest party. The real surprise is that it has surpassed all the opinion poll/exit poll predictions. At this point of time BSP is leading in 181 constituencies with SP a distant second at 92. BSP’s tally is now hovering at around 200. SP is finding it difficult to cross 100. BJP and Congess will win around 50 and 30 seats respectively.

Update:

Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav has conceded defeat in the UP Assembly elections as BSP has taken a huge lead and is all set to form the next government in the state.

The Congress party has hinted at offering outside support to Mayawati .[IBN Live]

Mayawati and her “Ganesh” Elephant have done wonders, being from heart of Uttar Pradesh I could understand the chaos and ultimate “goonda Raj, courtesy Maniney Mulayam Singh Yadav. Mulayam ceased to be the Muslim “messiah”, as being referred by some, year’s back, when his hunch men, wreaked havoc, claiming to be social workers, ripped the common man apart, the state of anarchy reached such heights, where Mulayams brother refused to acknowledge the Noida killings, as something which always happens. All imaginable “bahubaliâ€? or mobsters organized or disorganized became the part of already corrupted Mulayam machinery.

Mulayam missed a point, criminals do not represent the Muslims of UP, sadly it is the soft determination that Muslims in UP have yet not been able to form one strength so far. At least Mayawati, if not willing to cure the corruption in her regime will ensure all “bahubalis are safely packed behind some warm jail cells, as for the rights of Muslims, we have to find our own solution.
