Sachar Committee Report-Diagnosis of Muslims in India

The Report has diagnosed the disease as well as suggested the remedy.
Now who is going to step forward and administer the bitter medicine to our community ?
Govt or we ourselves! Thanks to the educational rennaisance in most cities of India,I feel that Muslims of India can themselves reach out to their underprivileged brethren.

If educational societies like Hamdard, Alameen, Crescent, Shadan, MJ, Deccan, Madina, Mesco join hands and set up Primary schools in MOSQUES in slums, poor localities with the support of political parties and religious heads, at least quality education will be accessible to lakhs of deprived children.

In Bangalore, former Minister Jafer Sharif has spent his MP fund in constructing school buildings in big mosques.

These schools are run by the Masjid committee and local governance ensures that there is quality in education and no profiteering.

Cant we do replicate it across the country?

The youth has to come forward. Start tutorials, coaching classes in your locality.Teach the underprivileged.

NGOs can take initiative and build a team of 100-200 student teachers who can be given and honorarium and facility for running such tutorials.

I am sure that many schools.colleges would be glad to associate with reputed NGOs in this venture.

If every muslim child of India goes to school from 6-14 years of age, I think that the community would surge ahead

I invite your workable suggestions so that we can join hands and implement them too!

  1. Dear Mr.K.M Raziuddin,
    Salam Aleykum,wa rahamtullahi,wa barakatuhu,

It is true that because of low literacy rate Muslims are lagging behind in all aspects, your suggestion is very much appreciatable and adoptable, as you said that the youth has to come forward. Start tutorials, coaching classes in localities. Teach the underprivileged. And to look that Every Muslim child should go to school,. Inshallah, Then definitely community would surge ahead.
In my opinion besides literacy we must try to bring political awareness in the community so that they can understand the political drama about our minority status, and why we are not well placed in administration or politics?
We have started an organization in Guntur Andhrapradesh to promote similar programmes and to monitor the distribution of the benefits to the Muslim minorities from the govt. Inshallah with all our brothers support we will continue.

    Allah Hafiz,

A very intersting thing a friend of mine read me out of the Asian Age one day is that the number of different categories of educated personnel in India are more compared to those Pakistan’s. Keeping in mind the progress Pakistan has attained in the past 60 odd years and their comparision viz a viz India. A thought flashes in my mind, that is if this is the case, I feel instead of finding faults only from within, we need to give a serious thought to the fact that there is a clear discrimination. The so called merit is of no consequence if we want a group ‘C’ and ‘D’ employee. This is well supported with the stats of the IAS/IPS/AFS cadre, where the percentage of Muslims was higher. We find it hard to get one become a constable, whereas we have DGPs and Ambassadors (IFS). We need to have a semblance of being true to the spirit of merit and mind it, if we have a constable in a company of 10 policemen, there wont be unproved firing we have hundreds of examples. Conversely, can we ask for tax exemptions if we pay zakat etc as is given to HUF? We need to demand as the definition and practice of democracy depends of people. Unfortunately here, the practice is going the fascist way.
