Indian Muslims wishes all its readers a joyous and prosperous Diwali. May this festival of lights bring happiness to each one of us.

Happy Diwali

DEEPAWALI GREETINGS

Like the caring arms of an affectionate mother,
The two crescents of this blessed lunar month;
Hold in warm embrace the two glorious faiths,
Which are governed by the fascinating Moon.

If one preceded the joy of Eid,
The other followed the festival of lights;
But both illuminated the night sky,
When it was facing the agony of the dark.

Like the ebb and flow of the tide,
Like the changes in the size of moon;
The throbs of time often bring for them,
Autumn and spring : Bane and boon.

Let Deepawali make it new and fresh,
When the sweetness of Eid is getting stale;
Let us learn this lesson from our past,
If we wish to survive without fail.

As someone rightly said, “Your DiwALI has Ali in it and my MuharRAM has a Ram in it.”

May our India shine on this Diwali and all the Diwalis ahead.

A very happy Diwali to all my friends out there!!!

Darkness represents ignorance, and light is a metaphor for knowledge. Therefore, lighting a lamp symbolizes the destruction, through knowledge, of all negative forces- wickedness, violence, lust, anger, envy, greed, bigotry, fear, injustice, oppression and suffering, etc

HAPPY DEPAWALI

Dear Inam Abidi, I wish to add one more simile… Hanuman too sounds like Sulaiman, Rehman, Usman.

To All Indian Muslims, I take this opportunity to accept while appreciating your heartfelt wishes on the festival of Deepavali. I reciprocate your good wishes with love. Eid (which I enjoy with my muslim friends) and Diwali tie us together in a brotherhood. Let’s all celebrate.
