Indian Muslims Blog wishes all its readers a peaceful and blessed Eid. Depending upon local moonsighting or predetermined date Muslims all over the world would be celebrating Eid either on 30th September, 1st October or 2nd October 2008.
Eid or Id or Eid-ul-Fitr or Meethi Eid comes after a month of fasting in the month of Ramadan when Muslims forsake any food or drink from dawn till dusk. In view of the recent tragedies in India and elsewhere we pray that everyone enjoys an incident free Eid with family and friends.
On this occasion please allow me to quote an excerpt from the last Khutbah (address) of Prophet Muhammad to his followers on the occasion of last Hajj he performed.
All mankind is from Adam and Hawwa (Eve), an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black, nor a black has any superiority over a white – except by piety and good action.

Eid mubarak to all.
The night is long and dark,
the daylight lost in shadows,
the wind sighs and cries
of lives lost, torn, scattered…
let us light a lamp my friend
against this storm and gale
so what if it is extinguished
we will light it again
and again….
and again.
Happy Navratri and Id Mubarak to all.
Festivals are an occasion to celebrate all the good things in life.

O Id! welcome back again
But are you back with some thing new for us
Or is it all the old things of past that you have brought again
(An Arabic couplet)
Happy to all, and may this day comes back again and again with all the happiness, prosperity and peace.
An apt quote for this occassion. Belated Eid greetings to all readers of this blog.
