A Member of Parliament is elected by popular vote of adult Indians to represent them in Lok Sabha. He or she is there to make sure that aspiration and wishes of his constituency are well represented when important issues and legislations are discussed in the legislative body.

How should a constituency of more than 500,000 adult registered voters feel when the person whom they elected chose not to represent them? He fails to represent them because he doesn’t show up for LS debates, he has yet to ask any question in the 14th Lok Sabha which was elected in 2004. In the last three years, out of 242 sessions he has attended only 11.

He has participated in debates only 8 times, 6 in 2004, and one in 2005 and one in 2006. This year he had nothing to say in the LS.

Outraged? You should be. An employee like this, a student with such a poor attendance record will never be tolerated then why should we tolerate a politician with such a poor record?

People of Lucknow should start a recall campaign against their MP who they have voted 5 times since 1991.

Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee should resign from his Lok Sabha seat.

Write to Vajpayee ji to give up his seat:
